Check out Sylvain’s epic Bio! Thanks so much Sylvain!

Sylvain Leone – Chief Flight Instructor & FTU Manager
Aurora Aviation Academy – Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops, BC
Completing his Commercial Pilot course in 1991 at McLoed Aviation at Vancouver
International (CYVR), Sylvain did not begin his career in aviation right away. After
several years as an entrepreneur in manufacturing, sales and training, Sylvain
wanted to his next and last career to be in Aviation. He completed his instructor
rating and partnered with the Aurora Aviation Group to help launch the Aurora
Aviation Academy. As Chief Flight Instructor and FTU Manager Aurora, one of his
roles is to be a contributor to, and foster a strong relationship with, General
Aviation.
The Aurora Aviation Group began 17 years ago in Helicopter Charters and has grown
to include an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), a helicopter flight raining
unit, and in 2019, added the fixed-wing flight training unit.
Working hard to be different in the flight training sector, Aurora has enjoyed strong
growth, in spite of the pandemic, growing from 2 to 8 aircraft in 18 months, and
now having bases in 3 locations (Vernon, Kelowna and Kamloops), and soon to be
adding a 4th in Vancouver’s lower mainland.
