Grew up in Southern Manitoba farming town.  Obtained Glider Pilot’s Licence at age 16 and Private Pilot’s Licence at age 17 through Air Cadet Flying Scholarship Program.  Attended University and worked as a diamond driller until joining the Canadian Armed Forces as a pilot in December 1990.  Trained to Wings Standard on the Slingsby Firefly, Canadair Tutor and Beechcraft King Air C-90A.  Two operational tours (9 years in Greenwood Nova Scotia) flying the Lockheed CP-140/a Aurora and Arcturus aircraft as an Aircraft Commander, Maritime Patrol Crew Commander and as a Training and Standards pilot.  Next posted to 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School as a King Air Instructor Pilot and Standards Pilot, followed by a posting to Air Force Standards as the Multi-Engine Standards Officer.  Retired from the RCAF after 21 years of service for a job as a Medevac pilot as well as a transport pilot flying the DHC-6 Twin Otter (flying pickup truck) for the Province of Manitoba and Manitoba Hydro.  After flying for almost 30 years, decided it was finally time to fly a desk  and moved on to become a Civil Aviation Safety Inspector with Transport Canada.  In the last seven years, have held positions as a Flight Operations Inspector as well as my current role as a Flight Operations Standards Coordinator. Currently maintaining flying currency flying Transport Canada aircraft including the King Air C-90a and the Cessna Citation C-550.  Currently live with my wife and marginally psychotic dog in Winnipeg and am really enjoying life, fishing, woodworking and fixing my kids’ cars.
